Install Profile on iPhone and iPad

A configuration profile sets up your Cirrux email, calendar, contacts and reminders on your iPhone or iPad in one go. You can get the profile in two ways: on the device itself, or by scanning a QR code from your Mac. Installing it always happens on the device.

On your iPhone or iPad

1

Open your mailbox settings

In Safari on your iPhone or iPad, go to your Cirrux mailbox settings and sign in if asked. Select the mailbox you want to set up and open the "Passwords" tab.

2

Download the profile

Tap "iOS configuration". iOS asks whether the website may download a configuration profile. Tap Allow, then Close.

3

Open the Settings app

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings. Right below your name you'll see "Profile Downloaded". Tap it.

Don't see "Profile Downloaded"?
Go to Settings, then General, then VPN & Device Management. The Cirrux profile is listed under "Downloaded Profile". If it isn't there either, download it again: iOS removes a downloaded profile that isn't installed within 8 minutes.

4

Install the profile

Tap Install in the top right corner and enter your device passcode. iOS shows a warning screen next; tap Install again, and once more to confirm.

The profile is signed by Cirrux and sets up Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Reminders. It contains an app password for this device only, so you don't have to type any passwords.

5

You're all set

Tap Done. Open Mail, Calendar or Contacts and your Cirrux account is there. The first sync can take a few minutes for a large mailbox.

From your Mac

1

Open your mailbox settings

On your Mac, go to your Cirrux mailbox settings, select the mailbox you want to set up and open the "Passwords" tab.

Click "iOS set up". A QR code appears.

2

Scan the QR code

Open the Camera app on your iPhone or iPad, point it at the QR code and tap the link that appears. This signs the device into Cirrux and downloads the profile. When iOS asks whether the website may download a configuration profile, tap Allow.

The dialog on your Mac follows along: it says "Downloaded, waiting for activation" once the profile is on your device.

Only scan it with your own device
The QR code signs the device that scans it into your Cirrux account. It refreshes every 45 seconds, so if scanning doesn't work, wait for a new one.

3

Open the Settings app

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings. Right below your name you'll see "Profile Downloaded". Tap it.

One profile per device

Each profile contains its own app password, so set up every device separately. Setting up your Mac too? See Install Profile on Mac.

Need to remove the profile?

Go to Settings, then General, then VPN & Device Management. Tap the Cirrux profile, then Remove Profile. This removes the Cirrux account from Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Reminders on that device.
