Cirrux is meant to replace both of them, and we are not there yet. Some things you rely on today are missing, and we would rather you find that out here than a week after you switched.
Every Cirrux row describes what you get today. Anything we are still testing counts as no. Where we are ahead, we say so too.
Checked in October 2026. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are compared on their Business Standard plans; where something needs a more expensive plan, the note says so.
Mail is where Cirrux started and where it is most complete. The gaps are mostly conveniences: scheduled send, templates, and native mobile apps.
The calendar is fast and speaks CalDAV, so it shows the same thing on the web, your iPhone and Thunderbird. What it does not do yet is the scheduling work around meetings: finding a free slot, booking rooms, booking pages and video calls.
Contacts sync to every phone and desktop over CardDAV, and they fill in addresses as you type in Mail and Calendar. Our own contacts app is early: it lists and searches, but you edit contacts in the app on your phone or computer.
Drive stores and shares files well, with every file encrypted under its own key. It is a file manager, not an office suite: there are no previews, no version history and no apps yet.
Cirrux Docs is in early access: supporters can use it today while we get it ready for everyone. It is a writing tool for documents that live on screen, not a Word clone. Spreadsheets, slides and forms do not exist yet.
Switching is the hard part, so we made it gradual. Connect your Google account and Cirrux keeps pulling in new mail, events and contacts while you get used to it. Sync with Microsoft 365 is in testing; until then the IMAP, calendar and contacts imports do a one-time move.
For your own account, Cirrux is ahead: passkey-only sign-in, apps whose access you can narrow after the fact, and your data in Europe under keys that belong to your workspace. What we are still building are the controls a large IT department expects, like SAML, enforced two-factor, audit logs and custom roles.
Cirrux is built to be scripted. A public API, signed webhooks, a command line tool and an MCP server let a script or your own AI assistant work in your account, with exactly the access you give it.
Both are on the roadmap. Neither exists today.
All three products change every month, ours fastest of all. If a row is out of date, or unfair to Google or Microsoft, email help@cirrux.co and we will fix it.
